Destination Event Support Fund — Refresh

As a first-year Bachelor of Tourism Management student at TRU, I applied to a Riipen project in partnership with Tourism Kamloops. The initiative focused on refreshing the Destination Event Support Fund (DESF)—a grant designed to support local event producers and grow Kamloops’ winter tourism season.

Working under the guidance of TRU faculty and in collaboration with Tourism Kamloops’ team, I contributed research, proposal writing, and strategic insight aimed at making DESF more accessible, engaging, and effective for grassroots event planners and student organizations.
